What does 'Total Alkaloid' / 'Ibogaine HCL' mean?

'Total Alkaloid' Ibogaine is a more natural, less refined, lower purity Ibogaine extract containing a full spectrum of secondary alkaloids and plant impurities.

'Purified Ibogaine HCL' is a higher purity Ibogaine extract made by refining Total Alkaloid Ibogaine. This isolates a cleaner material that is more stable, more potent by weight, and water soluble. ('HCL' indicates that the material is in it's hydrochloride salt form)

Are your products legal in Canada?

Yes. Our ethnobotanical products are offered and sold in a manner that complies with Canadian law when not paired with medical claims or use-based representations. Ibogaine has been added to Canada's Prescription Drug List. This is a regulatory control mechanism. However, Ibogaine remains unscheduled in Canada's Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. 

In this way, unlicensed and unqualified treatment providers can be controlled, while possession, non-medical sale, and scientific research remain non-criminalized. It is for this reason why we establish clear boundaries for the intended use of our material.

Is this a medical or therapeutic service?

No. We supply ethnobotanical materials for laboratory use only. We do not provide medical advice, treatment, diagnosis, or health-related guidance.

Can you explain how to use these materials therapeutically?

No, we cannot provide guidance, advice, or discussion regarding preparation, consumption, dosing, therapeutic use, or any form of human consumption.

What are the intended uses of these materials?

Our ethnobotanical materials  are intended solely for lawful scientific, laboratory, and research purposes. Typical applications include calibration and validation of analytical instruments (such as HPLC, LC-MS, or GC-MS), in-vitro experimental work, phytochemical characterization, method development, and academic or educational study of plant alkaloids. They are not intended for human consumption or any form of in-vivo application.

Scientific interest in Ibogaine has grown substantially in recent years, while reference materials have remained largely inaccessible. By making this material available, we lower the barrier-to-entry for students, labs, and researchers; with the hope that this may accelerate the understanding and development of these alkaloids as therapeutic tools in the future.

Are your products pharmaceutical grade?

No. "Pharmaceutical grade" Ibogaine as considered in Canada's Prescription Drug List is a highly purified material which is validated, intended, and approved for human consumption. Iboga and essential extracts for laboratory use, even if produced to a similar quality/purity standard, fall outside of this classification.

To comply with applicable regulation, our offerings are presented as "ethnobotanical materials/analytical samples", not pharmaceutical products, supplements, or medicines.

What are "ethnobotanical materials"?

Ethnobotanical materials are plant specimens, extracts, or plant-derived substances with a history of traditional use; which are studied in historical, cultural, or academic contexts.

How do you source your materials?

We work directly with established suppliers and prioritize traceability, ethical sourcing, and consistency, where applicable and appropriate.

Do you test or analyze your products?

Yes, each batch of product is tested for purity via mass spectrometry. Where appropriate, limited documentation related to sourcing or handling may be available upon request. Availability varies by product.

Will I receive a tracking number?

Yes, a tracking number is included in your order confirmation email. Note: It may take 6-24 hours for the tracking to become active on the Canada Post website.

Who is responsible for shipping delays?

Once your order is with the shipper, Canada Ibogaine Supply | Iboga Canada is not responsible for any delays. Canada Post may sometimes experience short delays.

What happens if my order doesn’t arrive?

  • Psychoactive drug ibogaine effectively treats traumatic brain injury in special ops military vets

    This Stanford Medicine article reports that ibogaine, given with cardiac protection, led to large and sustained reductions in PTSD, depression, anxiety, and functional disability in special-operations veterans with traumatic brain injury treated at a supervised clinic in Mexico.

  • Treatment of Opioid Use Disorder with high-dose Ibogaine: Detoxification and Outcomes

    This observational study followed 30 subjects with DSM-IV opioid dependence who received a high dose ibogaine treatment in Mexican clinics. Treatment methodology is described in detail.
    Withdrawal symptoms (SOWS) dropped significantly within days of treatment. At 1-month follow-up, 50% reported no opioid use in the prior 30 days. Addiction Severity Index scores for drug use, legal status, and family/social functioning improved relative to baseline at all time points through 12 months, with the strongest drug-use gains at 1 month that remained substantially better thereafter.
